Cpanel Logo

PHP versions and settings directly affect your website’s performance and compatibility. Through Cpanel, you can change the PHP version and adjust configurations such as upload limits, memory allocation, and execution time.

1. Log in to Cpanel

Go to https://yourdomain.com:2083 and open “Select PHP Version” or “MultiPHP Manager”.

2. Change PHP Version

Under “Current PHP Version”, you can see the active version. Use the dropdown to select another version (e.g., 7.4, 8.0, 8.1). Click Set as Current to apply the change.

3. Manage PHP Extensions

In the list below, enable or disable PHP extensions as needed. Common modules include:

  • pdo_mysql – For database connectivity
  • curl – For API and external requests
  • gd – For image processing
  • zip – For compression operations

4. Adjust PHP Settings (Options)

Click on “Options” to modify PHP configurations. Common settings include:

  • memory_limit → Memory limit (e.g., 512M)
  • upload_max_filesize → Maximum upload size (e.g., 128M)
  • post_max_size → POST request limit
  • max_execution_time → Script execution time (e.g., 300 seconds)

5. Save Changes

Changes are saved automatically. Refresh your website to confirm that the new PHP settings are active.

Note: Some CMS platforms (like WordPress or Joomla) are optimized for specific PHP versions. Always verify compatibility before switching versions.
