SSL errors can prevent your website from establishing a secure connection, showing a “Not Secure” warning in browsers. This guide explains how to troubleshoot and fix SSL and certificate issues through Cpanel.

1. Check Certificate Status

Go to “SSL/TLS Status” in Cpanel. You’ll see a list of your domains and their SSL status. A red icon indicates an expired or missing certificate.

2. Run AutoSSL

Click “Run AutoSSL” to reinstall a free Let’s Encrypt certificate. This usually completes within a few minutes.

3. Check Expiration Date

In “Manage SSL Sites”, verify the Expiration Date of your certificate. If it has expired, reissue or reinstall the certificate.

4. Fix DNS and IP Mismatches

Go to “Zone Editor” and ensure your domain’s A record points to the correct server IP. Incorrect DNS entries can cause SSL verification failures.

5. Clear Browser Cache

Your browser might still store outdated SSL information. Clear cache and cookies, then reload the page to test again.

6. Manual SSL Installation (Alternative)

If automatic installation fails, open “Manage SSL Sites” and manually upload your .crt, .key, and .ca-bundle files, then click Install Certificate.

Note: If AutoSSL fails repeatedly, make sure your domain resolves correctly and is not using a proxy like Cloudflare during validation.
