How to View Error Logs in Cpanel

Cpanel Logo

Cpanel Error Logs help you identify and troubleshoot website issues quickly. It’s especially useful for debugging common problems like “500 Internal Server Error”, “404 Not Found”, or “PHP Fatal Error”.

1. Log in to Cpanel

Go to https://yourdomain.com:2083 and log in. Then click on “Metrics” → “Errors”.

2. View Recent Errors

The “Errors” section displays the last 300 entries of website errors, including:

  • Date: When the error occurred
  • Path: File or directory where the error happened
  • Message: The actual error message generated by PHP or Apache

3. Check PHP Error Logs

Access the public_html/error_log file to review PHP errors. If it’s not visible, enable hidden files under Settings → Show Hidden Files.

4. Apache Access Logs

Go to “Raw Access” to see all HTTP requests made to your website — useful for detecting attack attempts or spam traffic.

5. Common Error Fixes

  • 500 Error: Usually caused by incorrect .htaccess configuration.
  • 404 Error: Missing file or directory.
  • PHP Fatal Error: Missing extension or invalid code.

Note: Monitoring your error logs regularly helps ensure optimal site uptime. If errors persist, contact SosyoHost technical support.
